A "onesie" is another name for an infant bodysuit. Typically, onesies are pulled over the head of the infant, similar to a t-shirt, with snaps or velcro that attach the garment together at the crotch. The purpose of the snaps or velcro is to allow parents easy access to a baby’s diaper. Like t-shirts, infant bodysuits come in a wide variety of designs and may be worn as undergarments or as outer shirts.

A onesie may be referred to as a blanket sleeper, creeper, snapsuit or babygro. Footed pajamas are also sometimes referred to as onesies.
